Career
In the career players explore the games story by gradually unlocking and completing missions.
Base info:
-
on release 20 missions are planned to be available
-
completing a mission will take about 10 to 20 minutes
-
players will visit 10 different locations (maps) - multiple missions can play on the same map.
Progression
The progression through the game is built in levels and could be represented in a table. Example flow:
This is a systematic visualization. The ingame GUI will not show players the tabular structure, but a planetary system with locked missions being hidden.
Whenever the player completes a mission for the first time, a hidden counter is incremented by 1. A newly created save file has 0 of such points. Every mission requires a minimum
number of points to be collected to become available. Therefore only the first 2 missions would be available by default in the example setup above.
The completion of missions (the increase of hidden points) does unlock new missions with the following exceptions:
-
Follow-up missions:
-
Multiple missions in the same location might depend on each other in a narrative context. An additional requirement for unlocking a follow-up mission is the completion of a certain previous mission. (violet in the example above)

Key missions
-
The career system allows missions to be optional. However certain missions will feature story-related events that players are not supposed to skip. Key missions must be completed for any later mission to become available. (red in the example above)
-
All unlocked missions can be replayed at any time, but they do not reward additional points for the progression counter.
Unlocks
The first competition also rewards players with a new primary weapon or with a special item. All unlocked equipment can be used in all missions with no exception.
