Who I am
Hi! My name is Alex, Game Designer with more than 10 years professional experience under my belt, currently located in Berlin, Germany.
Game Development already drew my interest when I was young. Through countless game modifications and personal projects I held onto the dream of becoming a game designer until I actually started working in the video games industry in 2012.
My main proficiencies lie in in Game Concepting, Level & Quest Design, Prototyping and Scripting. As manager of the design departments that shape the game world and fill it with missions and challenges, I am weathered in handling and combining all aspects of the game into a whole that has all it's pieces click together.
What I am
Curious designer: I am fluent in many prevalent game systems and mechanics, but I also possess the critical thinking ability to know when to break with the conventional in favor of new mindsets. Analysis and iteration of ideas and concepts, old and new, is an important part of my work and persistent articulation of my thoughts allows me to share them with my team and audience.
Technician: With my strong, technical background I am able to attack problems with the systematic precision of an engineer, bringing in additional skills in programming and scripting.
Collaborator: Nothing great can be created by an isolated mind. Constant communication throughout the design process improves quality and accessibility of a concept. Additionally sharing skills, knowledge and experience, learning from each other leads to a greater gain for everyone.
